Lucia Alvarez de Toledo, was born in Argentina in 1922. A doctor and biochemist, he lived and worked in Venezuela for several years. He moved to Cuba in 1961, where he co-founded the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Santiago. He retired in 1994.
Lucia Alvarez de Toledo (translator) is a close friend of the author's and the Guevara family. A war correspondent in Vietnam in her 20s for Argentina Broadcasting Co., she has worked as a journalist, documentary filmmaker, and interpreter.
